Ingredients:
- 1 pork butt 5-7 lbs
- 1/4 cup kosher salt
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- Wood chips hickory or applewood
Instructions:
Take off the extra fat from the pork butt and leave a thin layer on top for flavor
Mix paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, kosher salt, and brown sugar in a bowl to make a dry rub
Spread the dry mixture out evenly over the pork butt and rub it in well
Put the pork butt in the fridge with the lid on for at least 4 hours, or overnight for better flavor absorption
Set your smoker up with wood chips and keep the temperature at 107C 225F
Put the pork butt that has been marinated on the smoker grate
Smoke it for about 1
5 hours per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 93F 200C
Put the pork butt away from the fire and let it rest for 30 minutes
Shred the smoked pork with two forks to make pulled pork
You can put the pulled pork on buns, tacos, or any other way you like
If you want to add more flavor, you can use your favorite BBQ sauce
